Down in the valley, just north of the Garneau boundary, are facilities for year-round recreation. Picnic sites sprinkle the massive green space, with a network of hiking, cross-country skiing and cycling trails woven throughout. Hidden in the forest is the 18-hole Kinsmen Pitch and Putt golf course. A playground, water spray park and sports fields available for public use. Get your workout in inside the Kinsmen Sports Centre with its 200m track, extensive weight-lifting and fitness room. Swim or dive in the many indoor pools and diving tank. For a more laid back swim in the summer months, soak in the sun and water at the Queen Elizabeth Outdoor Pool. Or get caught up on the local history of the area at the John Walter Museum.
