MacEwan University is now stocking zines on its library shelves.
The small-circulation, self-published works cover all kinds of topics.
Zine is pronounced ZEEN.
It originates from the word and concept of magazines but are not from big publishers or printers. Instead, the handmade and usually photocopied objects use original and/or appropriated texts and images, to create distinct printed matter.
The university's students, staff, faculty, retirees and alumni can borrow the publications as can Edmonton Public Library cardholders.
